Off to Nicaragua!!

Our next adventure will be taking us to Nicaragua, land of active volcanoes, the largest lake in Central America, fantastic fiestas, quaint fishing villages, gorgeous colonial towns, tasty local cuisine and best of all, friendly and outgoing people. No worries, the war is long over, the guns are put away and now Nicaragua is the safest country in Central America. Or so we've heard.

So here's our plan...we'll start off on the island of Ometepe, created by two huge volcanoes in the middle of Lake Nicaragua, and is the largest fresh water island in the world. From their it's off to the village of Diriamba, where we will be in the middle of Nicaragua's oldest and most authentic festival, the festival of Saint Sebastian. Then it's down to the Pacific coast for a dip in the sea and hopefully some tasty seafood and finally we'll finish in the colonial town of Granada, where I might look for the restaurant they had on the Travel Channel where Andrew Zimern ate grilled iguana.

So please check into our blog once in awhile to see what we are up to. Hasta luego!
