Brahma bulls, cute kids and Creedance

This morning we took a nice 10km bike ride along Ometepe's coast. Beautiful morning, fresh and clear. The volcano was in its full glory, with just a small cloud on its top. On our way back, we saw a heard of Brahma bulls, just like those you see in India, with the big horns and huge ears. The were walking down the road and then headed to the beach to stand in the water and take a refreshing drink. It's funny seeing these kind of bulls here as I was used to seeing them in India, but not in Latin America. Cycling through the village of San Ramon, I stopped to take a picture of Amy, when a bunch of kids jumped out in the street asking me to take their picture. How perfect! Lots of cute kids and they all love to see their picture in the camera. Almost as good as the old Polaroid days, but of course in those days you could give them a picture.

The two expats we met at the bar last night had told us about a restaurant in Merida that serves the best fish anywhere, so we had to try it. It's called Caballito del Mar and is right on the lake. We were soon served the largest, most amazing grilled fish I've ever eaten. A HUGE tilapia (which is from tbis lake and is much, much better then the China farm raised tilapia in our supermarkets). It was so, so, so good! Marinated in some limes and served with tostones (grilled plantains) and rice. It was huge and easily fed both of us. All this good eating was to a Creedance Clearwater CD that the Spanish owner put on. And in our view from the restaurant were a bunch of local kids having a great time playing in the lake. Kids playing just like they used to when we were kids. How refreshing. Grilled fish, joyfull kids and Creedance. What could be better?
